Steven Scott Smalley
Scott Smalley is one of Hollywood’s top orchestrators, and has worked with many top composers including Danny Elfman, Basil Poledouris, Alan Silvestri, David Newman, and many others. Scott has developed unique orchestrational techniques used nowhere else focused on balancing the orchestra to achieve the widest array of dramatic and emotional sounds, from intimate music to the large “Hollywood” orchestra sound. His unique approach to orchestration and his ability to concisely and effectively teach his orchestration methods to students have made him one of the top orchestration teachers in the industry, attracting over 2,500 students from countries around the world.
